Pulwama Police issued a statement on Sunday which reads out that in order to continue its efforts to eradicate the rising menace of drugs from the society, Pulwama Police have booked two notorious drug peddler under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS Act) after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authorities. The notorious drug peddlers have been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganie, son of Late Wali Mohd Ganie, resident of Chatapora & Javaid Ahmad Ganai, son of Mohd Shaban Ganai, resident of Loolipora Nehama village of the district.
As per the statement “the said drug peddlers were involved in various NDPS cases registered in various police stations of the district and were promoting drug addiction by supplying drugs to local youth of District Pulwama.”
“General public of Pulwama appreciated the role of Police Pulwama for their action against drug peddlers. Pulwama Police’s consistent actions against the drug peddlers should reassure the community members that police in Pulwama is making all efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse” reads the statement.
