PULWAMA: In a statement issued by Pulwama Police reads that proactive move against the illicit drug trade, the Pulwama Police, during a routine NAKA duty on Circular Road Pulwama near Maizban Hotel on Feb. 12, 2024, intercepted a vehicle with registration number JK13H-8135. The subsequent search revealed alarming findings, leading to the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of illegal substances.
Riyaz Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Akber Wani, residing in Looswani, and Faizan Gul, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh from Dangerpora, were identified as the occupants of the vehicle.
The statement further stated that upon meticulous checking, a substantial amount of Heroin wrapped in polythene was discovered in the driver’s pocket. Additionally, two slabs of Charas, two digital weighing machines, and a pack of 10 insulin syringes were recovered from the other person in the vehicle.
Both individuals were unable to provide a plausible explanation for the possession of the contraband. Consequently, Case FIR No. 30/2024 U/S 8/20,21 NDPS Act was promptly registered at Police Station Pulwama, and a comprehensive investigation has been initiated.
