Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain affirmed that the police are fully prepared to ensure peaceful Lok Sabha elections in the region. Speaking at the inauguration of a police post in Rohmoo, Pulwama, DGP Swain emphasized providing a safe and secure environment for enthusiastic voters. He acknowledged the direct link between terrorism and narco-trade, with evidence suggesting involvement of groups like LeT, Jaish, and Al-Badr. DGP Swain revealed that narcotics valued at Rs 15 lakh in Kashmir escalate to Rs 1 crore while en route to Delhi, underscoring the need for a robust mechanism to combat this trade. He assured the public of the police force’s capability to address these challenges effectively.
