GDC Shopian Organizes Seminar

SHOPIAN: The Debates and Seminars Committee of IM GDC Shopian in collaboration with the Directorate of Admissions, Central University of Kashmir organized One Day Seminar on CUET-22 for the Pass outs of the college and students of 5th/6th semester aspiring to join masters programmes in different subjects.

The speakers from the CUK included Chief Guest and Director Admissions CUK, Prof. Parveena Pandit, OSD Examination and Evaluation CUK Dr. Zahoor Ahmad and Assistant Professor in Education Department Dr. Firdous Ahmad Sofal. The Guest of Honour and Principal of IM GDC Shopian Prof. Bashir Ahmad Dar in his inaugural address welcomed the guests and thanked them for choosing the college for such an important Programme. Prof. Dar asked the students to make most of the opportunity of listening to the distinguished speakers from a prestigious university.

 

Prof. Parveena Pandit in her presentation spoke about various programmes offered by the CUK and exhorted upon the students to work hard in order to excel in a fiercely competitive world.

 

Dr. Zahoor Ahmad in his speech reflected on various aspects of making and marking right choices in the online application forms for CUET-22. He specially laid emphasis on reading the brochure before embarking on filling in the details in the form. Dr. Firdous in his passionate presentation asked the students to work intelligently so as to achieve the goals they have set for themselves. He emphasized the advantages of getting a degree from a Central University.

 

The presentations from the guest speakers were followed by an interactive session in which students sought answers to their queries from the speakers.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks to the house by Dr. Showkat Ahmad, Head Department of Geography. The programme was moderated by Dr. Umar Farooq from the Department of Botany.
