Pulwama : Recently a railway halt station was thrown open for people in Ratnipora village of Pulwama district. It was much needed stop for dozens of villages as they had to board or de-board train at Kakapora or Malangpora station which would consume them more hours.
Villages like Ratnipora, Galbugh, Goripora and Puchal hailed the inauguration of the halt station but complain about less stoppage of trains. The trains at the halt station stops only during morning and evening hours.
A local resident of Galbugh village said that the morning and evening halt of the train only helps employees but during day hours no one is able to avail the train services.
“A bridge should also be construed on the Nalla Laar so that people of the Gulbagh had not to walk through railway track” he adds.
Another local Ghulam Kadir Lone from Ratnipora village said, “we are happy to have the halt station but it needs more facilities like trains should stop during day hours also instead of morning & evening only.
The halt station has no passenger transport facilities adding it would provide relief to the passengers while going to and fro.
“We request Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to intervene into the said issues and solve them for the welfare of the people” added Lone.
