Baramulla lifts inter- district Kho-Kho trophy

An inter district provincial level KHO-KHO Competition for girls of under-19 age group was held in Government Women’s College Pulwama by Joint Director Youth Service & Sports Kashmir. It was hosted by district Youth Services and Sports Pulwama.

The chief guest of the occasion was Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Basart Qayoom. He warmly welcomed all the participating girl teams.

During the competition girl teams from nine districts of Kashmir division participated.

Mehak Yaseen Bhat, from Budgam district team said “we are thankful to District Youth Service Sports Pulwama for warmly welcoming us”.

“Sports is platform were we can show our ability and then excel in it” she added.

Another participating girl Omaisa, from district Srinagar team said, “last year the competition was cancelled due to some reason but today we are extremely delighted to participate in the competition. We will give our best in the competition. Our focus is to win the game and reach to the level were we can represent our Union Territory and eventually our country.”

The first match of the competition was played between Baramulla & Anantnag district which was won by Baramulla.

The semi-finals were played between Srinagar vs Shopian & Bandipora vs Baramulla.

After registering their wins in semi-final Srinagar & Baramulla played a thrilling match.

Baramulla outshined Srinagar in the final and registered their win.

A twelve member will be selected from the participating teams who will play against Jammu division.
